They racked up lifers on their trip to Big Bend and for one person in the group the Varied Bunting she saw at CMO was her 500th life bird. Congratulations Shelley!
I watched a Summer Tanager catching insects in a mesquite early this morning.

The Varied Bunting was sweet as were the Brewer's Sparrow and Rufous-crowned Sparrow which were also life birds. Thanks, Carolyn, for the wonderful visit. It was a highlight of our trip and I can't wait to visit again.
I really enjoyed our time together and hope you get back here again.
