Coming down from Alpine this morning, Santiago Mountain appeared as a mirage out in the desert.
Not much going on bird-wise. Ocotillo are in full bloom so Lucifer Hummingbirds aren't showing up at the feeders these days. The group of birders today seemed content with a
Central Texas Whipsnake as a consolation for not seeing Lucifers. One in the group caught it so they could all photograph it before releasing it. I was greatly impressed that they were able to catch it.
Here's a
Yellow-headed Blackbird that I photographed today. He seems to be traveling with a
Brown-headed Cowbird.
