I'm used to hummers swarming in late summer as they build up their fat reserves in preparation for migration, but it's surprising to see them buzzing frenetically in May. (All Black-chinnedHummingbirds.)
I panicked and put out more and bigger feeders.
I'm not sure why the influx, maybe some are recently fledged.
I'm sure glad I hung extra feeders at the oasis yesterday just in case it's the same there.
