Unfortunately, my recovery will only last until tomorrow when I'll do it all over again. But I got the rotten wood out from under the guesthouse window and made a concrete ledge. You won't be able to see the finished result until I take off the form, but here it is so far.

After removing siding and rotted wood. That back board is the one I put on inside
the room when I was here the other day. It'll be part of the form for the concrete. |

Cleaned out and formed, ready for cement |

Concreted, but not cured yet |
The guesthouse cedar siding is falling apart. I'm going to have to buy something to coat it with to keep it from getting worse. Next project. At least it's more mouse-proof now, although I haven't had mice in it since I sealed it a few years ago. Poured concrete under the east windows at that time. There's only one window left that doesn't have concrete. It seems to be holding up OK. I'll caulk it when I coat the siding.
Hummingbird numbers are way down today. Seems the peak is over. It appears that most of the Black-chinneds have moved on. Quite a few Lucifers, a couple Ruby-throated and Rufous, and some Black-chinneds are still keeping the feeders busy, but I won't need the second 48 oz feeder when I leave here tomorrow.
Terlingua Ranch Road got a deluge yesterday. Nothing at CMO though. So far this year I've had less than a total of 4" of rain. I heard on the radio that ranchers are reducing their herds by 25% because of the drought. Some areas are getting plenty of rain though. Along the Rio Grande by Big Bend National Park recently got over 4" in one day. So it goes.
