Dizzifying day!

Had so much I wanted to do today that I didn't get a chance to eat or even comb my hair, but got it done. Headed to the oasis at 6 AM to water trees and service feeders. Rushed through it to get back to town to go see a life bird at Sunny Glen (a sort of subdivision west of Alpine).

I saw some nice species at the oasis, including the last two remaining Lucifers, both juvenile males. Likely my last Lucifer sightings or photos until next March.

Another bird I like is a Sage Thrasher, which I photographed bathing in the big tank.

I rushed back to town so fast that I actually got to Sunny Glen around 2:30. I had planned to hopefully arrive around 3 PM when the Evening Grosbeak was most likely to be seen. After waiting 15 minutes, I couldn't believe it when I spotted the bird perched in an agave stalk, not far from me, or the feeder it favors.

I figured it would leave any second, and then other birders would arrive and miss it. But we were lucky. Two birders showed up while I was still observing the bird. I wasted no time getting them on it, just in case. Then I headed back home to start getting things caught up there. Two hummers showed up, I think both were Allen's. The one, I know is, but the other was one I hadn't seen before.  Wish I would have had time to focus on better photos. Here's the new one, that may or may not be an Allen's.

Tomorrow's another day!
