Lack of leps, but plenty of rattlers

Another rattlesnake got caught in the chicken wire and had to be dispatched, then cut out of the fence. Yuck! I only have a few feet of chicken wire on the whole place so there must be a lot of rattlesnake activity for that to happen as often as it does. And this is a Diamond-backed. The last two CMO rattler encounters were both Black-tailed.

Have a couple of new butterflies at the oasis, but basically, there haven't been near the numbers there were last September. Here's a Mimosa Yellow. About as plain looking as one can get.

Must be due to the recent long cold winter, and unrelenting drought. Rain is forecast, so things might improve yet.

I've had a bout of vertigo for the last week or so, which is a real drag.
