Some good, some not so good

Kelly and his bander guests really wanted to band a Lucifer, but in the two days they banded in Lucifer territory we didn't catch a one. So much is blooming up in the cooler Chisos Mountains that I think they all went up there. That was a big disappointment to us all.

Here's a Sora from the oasis. I love rails.

And I love altricial baby birds, like this little quail. I had to shoot against the sun, but it was that or nothing. They're very secretive when they're little. There were a few more half-grown chicks with the adult, but I only got one before they disappeared.
