Feral hog trapping

My husband traps feral hogs. We eat them. I like the ribs best. Today he caught one and was showing my son how to process it.

I'm feeling really good about the oasis and eager for good birds to show up for us all to enjoy. Probably too late for this year, but spring will arrive soon, being as time flies!

  1. I have eaten feral hog only once, and found it to be excellent. Looks like somebody is going to have some good meals out of that one. Ugh on the labor though.

  2. I love making stew and soup with the ribs, but kind of burned out on the roasts, so I think hubby is going to make the rest into sausage. He gives a lot away, but the supply is endless.

  3. Wouldn't mind an endless supply around here. I hear plenty of complaints about them. Too bad there's no way to deal with them commercially.

  4. Commercially is the only word I can think of. Processing and selling meat I guess is what I really mean....

  5. Yes, we give a lot away. It's really good healthy protein.
