Here's another bird that I don't recall ever seeing in this condition... a House Finch. (Photo courtesy Mac Womack.) Not sure what's going on with it.

It's hard to tell if the HOFI is a bit too scaly around the eyes from this pic - when was the last time the feeders were cleaned? Could be early stages of conjunctivitis.
Yikes! Maybe I clean them once a year if that often.
