Feels like summer

Big Bend National Park on March 1st by Tim McKenna
At the oasis today I enjoyed seeing the blooming Desert Evening Primrose (Oenothera primiveris). Funny though that it only blooms in the morning.

The White-crowned Sparrow was still hanging today. I thought the shrike would have retrieved it by now. You know me, I hate to see anything go to waste.

I'm laughing. I hate for things to go to waste too. But I'm certainly not likely to eat it. Being well fed as I am. Maybe it's a shrike with a European taste for hanged meat.

I meant I hate that the shrike wasted it, but maybe, like you say, it likes its meat well-cured. I'm surprised nothing else got it. If it hangs there any longer I'm sure a vulture will get it.
