Unexpected Alpine flowers

Someone in Alpine blanketed every speck of their front yard with wildflowers. It's quite impressive.



Nevertheless, I was disappointed in the butterflies. Just the common ones that are everywhere. Here's a tail-less Two-Tailed Swallowtail.


A surprise Chaste Tree (Vitex angus-castus) came up along the fence on the west side of our Alpine habitat. Birds must have carried in the seed.
