Belated post

Yesterday I decided the only way I would get to Lajitas to look for dragonflies was to just do it. So I did it, but at expense to my body. When I got to the oasis afterwards it was 100° and I absolutely had to water things, what with the heat and not having watered for 4 days. So I pushed myself until 6 PM when I collapsed on the couch until 6:00 this morning.

I haven't identified all the ode photos I took at Lajitas. There were tons of odes there but none looked like a species I hadn't seen before. I think this is an Eastern Ringtail.

This next one appears to be a dragonlet of some kind, probably a Plateau Dragonlet.

I had intended to get done watering yesterday so I could go look for butterflies in the Chisos Mountains, but thought I shouldn't push myself again today. I'll be going back in a couple of days and will do the Chisos then. Meanwhile, I photographed this Fiery Skipper at Lajitas yesterday.

UPDATE: That E Ringtail photo turns out to be a lifer White-belted Ringtail! YAY!
